With the breeze of March coming through our window, here at Asian Movie Night we have been cooking up a springtime event!
In collaboration with ArtEZ University of Arts, Focus Filmtheater Arnhem, and Filmhuis Cavia Amsterdam, we bring you Kim Bora’s ‘House of Hummingbird’(2018), an acclaimed South Korean coming of age film.
In the summer of 1994’s Seoul, 14-year-old Eunhee feels disconnected from the rest of the world. As she wanders the city in search of love and purpose, forces in both her personal life and the outside world are set on emboldening the chaos around her.
Join us for this heartfelt drama for Kim Bora’s heartfelt debut! In honor of this screening, we will have a short aftertalk with our guest speaker Hyeisoo Kim to discuss the wave of up-and-coming female indie directors in South Korea. Not to miss out!
