The first Cambodian movie shown by Asian Movie Night, an atmospheric drama by French Cambodian filmmaker Davy Chou, shot on the luxurious Diamond Island in the center of the capital Phnom Penh.

Bora and his clumsy friends work there as construction workers, an existence that contrasts sharply with the privileged life of the island's new inhabitants. When Bora’s lost brother Solei reappears, and pulls Bora into a life seemingly filled with possibilities, things start taking a turn...

Diamond Island is the debut narrative feature-length film by Davy Chou first released in 2016. It has been screened in the International Critics' Week section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival and won the SACD Award.
