 Asian Movie Night (2017)

About

Asian Movie Night is a community cultural project, in which selected Asian films are being screened to a public on a regular basis with curated themes and after-movie sessions to open up discussions. The project aims to introduce more diverse Asian cultures in a comfortable environment and accessible format to a broader audience. It is also to create a physical as well as online community with various cultural backgrounds who are interested in learning about different cultures hence promoting cross-cultural communication and understanding.
Asian Movie Night first started out in 2017 as a student initiative being organised at ArtEZ University of Arts in Arnhem. While still having a base at ArtEZ, Asian Movie Night has also expanded its connectivity throughout the city of Arnhem, having collaborated with Bar de Groen, Walter Books, B53 Art Space and Focus Filmtheatre in Arnhem; as well as Klooster Kino in Nijmegen and Weaving Realities in Amsterdam.
